These same processes can be used in day-to-day living to . . . Gaining and Maintaining of confidence. Speaking in public lists amongst the highest of fears in many people. Even for experienced speakers, it is important to establish a “state” of confidence before beginning a session. Included in this category is the skill of recovering from a mistake. Construction of a presentation. This is the skill of putting together a speech/training session which appeals to the many different learning skills of an audience. Many speeches and/or training sessions originate because there is some information (or a skill) which needs to be conveyed to the audience. However most adults do not learn by having information “dumped” on them! A carefully designed presentation will incorporate four main learning styles in which adults prefer to learn. Mechanics of speaking to a group. Many well constructed presentations have been spoiled by poor mechanics being used. These include (but are not restricted to): poor eye contact with the group, ineffective voice production (pitch, intonation, volume), poor use of visual aids, using stories which do not link to the presentation, and answering question/s in a manner which loses the focus of the group.NLP • Improve communication, “If you do what you have always done, you are always get what you always got.
